ELMIRA, N.Y. (WETM)---Childhood obesity is currently affecting one in five children in the United States.
"So childhood obesity is one of the chronic complications, chronic health issues that we see in children and and if we're seeing healthcare like it appeared in the last couple of decades," said Ravi Raj Kavoda, Chairman of Department of Pediatrics.
Doctors recommend that parents talk to their children about healthy eating starting at a young age.
"The question should start with, like you know, a straightforward question, like healthy dialogue, like when parents talk to their children, like what is their idea of healthy choices, making kids more available to good food," said Kavoda.
