ELMIRA, NY (WETM) - Temperatures here in the Twin Tiers will drop to the mid-to-upper 30s tonight in a few places, but it will likely not be quite cold enough for long enough to cause the formation of frost with clear skies and light winds in play. However, a few places, mainly those that are in our local sheltered valleys, will feel unusually cold and not get in on any "warming" breezes. So, frost could form on some surfaces in the overnight hours. This is why it is not a bad idea to cover any tender plants or still maturing vegetables still in the ground to protect them from getting damaged.
Right now, most of the Frost Advisories for the Southern Tier region are relegated to a few of the counties next to the Twin Tiers. But so far, at press time, we have been spared.
Other than that,
