PORTLAND, Ore. — Multnomah County Chair Jessica Vega Pederson on Monday called on the county district attorney's office to release video of a high-profile assault that happened near the Central Library in downtown Portland in late August , pointing to a "serious discrepancy" between the video evidence and statements made by police about what happened.
“The public deserves transparency," Vega Pederson said, in part. "I’m calling on District Attorney Nathan Vasquez to release the security footage from the Central Library so everyone can have a better understanding of this incident."
For his part, DA Vasquez immediately brushed off the request in a statement announcing that the three suspects had been indicted by a grand jury.
