WASHINGTON PARISH, La. — A Franklinton man is accused of helping an escaped inmate in Washington Parish last week.

Sheriff Jason Smith says they arrested Bradford Forrest at his home on Sunday. Forrest booked into the parish jail on the charge of assisting escape.

Elliott had escaped alongside another inmate, Corey Ard, but both were captured later that day.

Five hours after the escape, deputies captured Ard along Highway 25. Less than an hour later, they found Elliott behind the Cargill Animal Nutrition Plant in Franklinton. Both were caught within a few miles of the jail.

Inmate records show Ard and Elliott are now facing one count of simple escape each. That charge can carry two to five years in prison if convicted.
