CULLMAN COUNTY, Ala. —

A Cullman County student was sent to the hospital after a collision with a vehicle after school.

Cullman County Schools posted on social media the incident took place in a crosswalk between West Point High School and the football stadium Monday just before 3 p.m.

The school system said the student was alert and taken to a Cullman hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

"We appreciate the quick arrival by first responders, and would appreciate your thoughts and prayers for both the student and the driver of the vehicle," said the school system.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency is investigating.
