JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ala. —

A decision is expected to come down by the end of the week regarding the police body cam footage of the death of Jabari Peoples.

Peoples was shot and killed by a Homewood police officer in June . Since then, Peoples' death was ruled justified and his family was able to see portions of the footage of their loved one's death, but have not been able to get a copy or see the footage in its entirety.

The video is at the center of legal action taken by Peoples' mother.

Based on Monday's hearing, the judge said she's more inclined to do a camera review from the night Peoples was shot and killed.

The legal team for Peoples' family requested Judge Elisabeth French to preserve the evidence from the night he died. Attorney Leroy Maxwell says this move is less about the
