CHICAGO — Minnesota Vikings left tackle Christian Darrisaw will miss Monday's season opener as he continues to recover from a knee injury he suffered last season in late October.
The 2021 first-round pick was questionable heading into Monday and was on the field pregame working on his footwork, but team officials later confirmed he would be inactive. Prior to the injury last year, Darrisaw was one of the top left tackles in the league. Pro Football Reference ranked him as the fourth-best tackle in the league following the 2023 season.
The Vikings will likely go with Justin Skule, who signed with the Vikings in the offseason after starting five games for Tampa Bay last season.
Minnesota will also be without veteran safety Harrison Smith because of a personal health matter . With
