A report from the National Weather Service was issued on Monday at 3:44 p.m. for strong thunderstorms until 4:15 p.m. for North Central Oregon.

The storms may bring wind gusts of up to 40 mph and penny-sized hail (0.75 inches).

"At 3:43 p.m., Doppler radar tracked a strong thunderstorm near Antelope, or 24 miles west of Fossil, moving north at 10 mph," states the weather service. "Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible."

The alert is for Antelope and Shaniko.

According to the weather service, "If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building."
