An updated report was issued from the National Weather Service on Monday at 2:45 p.m. for strong thunderstorms until 3:15 p.m. for East Slopes of the Oregon Cascades.

The storms are anticipated to bring wind gusts of up to 40 mph and nickel-sized hail (0.88 inches).

"At 2:44 p.m., Doppler radar tracked a strong thunderstorm near Black Butte Ranch, or 26 miles west of Redmond, moving north at 10 mph," describes the weather service. "Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible."

The alert is for Black Butte Ranch.

The weather service comments, "If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building."
