As has seemingly become tradition around the Rams, the team’s offensive line will bear some monitoring entering Week 2 after guards Kevin Dotson and Steve Avila suffered ankle sprains in Sunday’s season-opening 14-9 victory over the Houston Texans .

Avila, the Rams’ starting left guard, suffered his injury in the second quarter on Sunday as his ankle was rolled up on during a running play. He tested the ankle out during halftime warmups, but ultimately the Rams (1-0) opted to stick with backup Beaux Limmer in Avila’s place.

But after Dotson sprained his ankle, Avila came back into the game and Limmer switched over to right guard. Avila finished the game out, walking downfield in between snaps before going full-speed during plays, moving up to the second level on runs.
