PENNSBORO, W.Va. (WBOY) — A Ritchie County man has made it to round two in this year's USA Mullet Championships and needs your help to make it to the final.
Scrappy Perine of Pennsboro is currently a top 100 finalist in the competition. The championships market themselves as the #1 mullet competition in the country, and this isn't Perine's first time in the competition. Perine's mullet, which he calls the 'Mountaineer Mullet,' finished 3rd in the country in 2023 and 5th in 2022.
Each year, the competition raises money for an organization through its voting process. This year, all proceeds go toward Jared Allen's Homes for Wounded Warriors, which helps build mortgage-free accessible homes for wounded combat veterans.
