ANGIER, N.C. (WNCN) — While Saturday's Powerball jackpot winners were not in North Carolina, some Tar Heel residents still got lucky with their tickets.
That includes Richard Coats of Willow Springs. According to the North Carolina Education Lottery, the Wake County man bought a $3 Powerball ticket at the Food Lion on North Raleigh Street in Angier in Harnett County, which ended up winning $100,000 in Saturday night's drawing.

The lucky ticket matched numbers on four of the five white balls drawn as well as the red Powerball. That would've normally won him $50,000 but because he bought a ticket with Power Play, Coats ended up winning $100,0
