QUEENS, N.Y. (PIX11) -- A 31-year-old Queens woman is facing multiple charges, including sex trafficking and promoting prostitution, Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz announced Monday.
Valezka Echeverrias was arraigned on an 11-count indictment on Friday and ordered to return to court on Sept. 18.
Echeverrias allegedly paid for a victim to travel from Mexico to New York and forced them to pay her $800 a night by having sex with men on Roosevelt Avenue, the indictment alleges.
The victim was also forced to rob men to meet a daily quota set by Echeverrias, prosecutors say. If the victim did not comply, they would be physically assaulted.
The defendant is also accused of extorting another victim in 2023, forcing the victim to pay her $100 a day to engage in prostitution on Roosevelt A
