BELLEROSE, Queens (PIX11) – A couple died after they were set on fire inside their Queens home on Monday, sources told PIX11 News.

Police said they’re looking for a suspect accused of igniting the flames at 87-86 254th St. around 3:20 p.m.

A 77-year-old man with trauma throughout his body was discovered tied to a pole in the home’s basement, according to sources. Sources said his 78-year-old wife was also found in the basement, burned beyond recognition.

The couple’s son, who works for the FDNY, was not home at the time of the fire, according to sources.

Surveillance video obtained by authorities showed a man between 30 and 40 years old wearing a black hat, a black jacket, blue jeans and black sneakers walking past the home.
