BECKLEY, WV (WVNS) - Many southern West Virginia residents are still feeling the impact of recent flooding. The staff at Hope in the Mountains said they hope to lend a hand.

It has been announced that applications for mini-disaster relief grants are now open. Individuals in the Wyoming, Raleigh, and McDowell County areas could qualify for up $500 for help in the rebuilding process.

Executive Director for Hope in the Mountains, Ryan Snuffer told 59News there is still work to be done even months after the initial flooding. "They're still rebuilding down there. In fact, a lot of them are just getting started," he said. "They might have some electrical work or some foundation work or some flooring work; furniture replacement.
