OREGON, Wis. (WMTV) - The Oregon Area Chamber of Commerce announced the discontinuation of a long-standing community festival on Monday.

Summer Fest, which is traditionally held each June, will no longer be held in the village.

In a statement Monday, the Oregon Chamber said the decision came after much discussion and careful consideration, and has determined that the event is no longer sustainable.

Organizers cited rising costs, decreased participation and a lack of volunteers have made it increasingly difficult to continue operating Summer Fest in its current form.
