PORTLAND, Ore. — A man is believed to have killed his mom and 10-year-old sister before taking his own life Saturday in what's been a triple homicide investigation in Southeast Portland, police said.

Police said that just after 5 p.m., officers were responding to a home on the 7300 block of Southeast 64th Avenue regarding a call about someone who had died by suicide. When they got there, they discovered that three people were dead of gunshot wounds: a male and two females.

Homicides detectives believe that a 22-year-old took the lives of his 46-year-old mother and his sister. Their identities will be released after the Medical Examiners completes their work.

No other details have been released, however, the investigation remains ongoing, Portland police said.
