BIG COUNTRY, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) - You may have seen or heard a group of cyclists rolling into Abilene late Monday afternoon. That was the Texas Brotherhood Ride, also known as the Honor Ride.

Cyclists with the group are traveling more than 600 miles from Lubbock to Houston this week to honor 13 Texas first responders who died in the line of duty. The seven-day journey averages 80 to 100 miles a day, carrying one clear message: Texas never forgets.

Riders like Andrew Haire carry the names of the fallen to raise awareness and show support for their families and colleagues.

"It's a way that we can look back and see those names, talk about their stories, and assure the family, the loved ones, that their loved one is truly not forgotten," Haire said.
