COBB COUNTY, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - Police are investigating a deadly pedestrian crash that shut down a roadway in Cobb County early Monday morning.

The crash happened on Cobb Parkway at Crater Lake Drive in Kennesaw just after 5 a.m.

According to Cobb County police, officers responded to the scene of a pedestrian being hit by a car. The pedestrian was confirmed dead at the scene.

Bicyclist Charlie Sparks rides through the intersection often. He says he’s had a number of close calls with cars.

“I see a lot of bikes. A lot of people walking. I probably see 20, 30 cyclists out here, and I’m sure that if I’m getting a couple of close calls every week - they probably are too,” Sparks said.

No word has been given about a possible vehicle involved since one was not at the scene.
