CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - According to Mecklenburg Housing Data, more than 2,400 people are dealing with homelessness in Charlotte Metro. One organization is taking notice and filling a gap to help those who are unhoused feel a sense of normalcy.
A fundraiser at a local gas station is now contributing to their cause.
In 2017, Hope Vibes was founded “with the goal of bringing awareness, hope, and real solutions to the homeless epidemic in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg region.” Today, the husband and wife duo operate a 24-foot box truck with shower access and laundry services.
“We don’t have a lot of resources, and we didn’t start out with a lot of resources, but we had an idea and a commitment to see people’s dignity restored one shower, one load of laundry at a time,” said Emmanuel Threatt,
