If one were to look at the stat sheet from Duke football's Week 2 game against Illinois , they would see two teams that looked fairly even along the board.

The one glaring difference? The Blue Devils ' five turnovers compared to the Fighting Illini's zero. Three of those turnovers came in the second half, resulting in 21 points for Illinois and being a decisive factor in the 45-19 loss. Duke fumbled four times, including two strip-sacks of quarterback Darian Mensah, along with an interception.

They were glaring issues brought out by the Illinois defense, something head coach Bret Bielema said postgame that his team emphasized in preparation.

"(Friday night before the game), I put a seven-play, eight-play clips of teams punching out the ball on them last year and stuff," Bielema
