MCLEAN COUNTY ( 25News Now ) - A second person has pleaded guilty to first-degree murder for killing a man who was shot, beaten, strangled, and left for dead almost two years ago in rural Bloomington.

McLean County State’s Attorney Erika Reynolds said Justin Kletz, 28, is eligible for 35 to 75 years in prison for his guilty plea to Jamere Bew’s murder on Thanksgiving weekend of 2023.

The 31-year-old Bloomington man was beaten with a baseball bat, shot multiple times, and strangled with a cord. Bew’s body was found in a ditch off Route 136, between McLean and Heyworth.

In an earlier court hearing, prosecutors said Kletz and co-defendant Derek Siebring, 20, were enraged because Bew had sex with a woman while she was sleeping at their Springfield Road apartment.
