The trial of three men accused of murdering a George Town father in October 2022 by stabbing him to death 11 times during a street fight has started in Launceston.

Luke Anthony Shaw, 33, Paul William Shaw, 35, and Patrick Kenneth Dolbey, 40 , have all pleaded not guilty to the murder of David Wayne Jenkins in the Supreme Court of Tasmania.

The trial commenced on Tuesday, September 9, 2025 - nearly three years after the three men allegedly murdered Mr Jenkins at George Town on October 22, 2022.

During a directions hearing in the Supreme Court in Launceston on September 2, Director of Public Prosecutions Daryl Coates SC said he expected the trial to take three weeks, with the Crown's case to take approximately seven days.
