COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) - The Midtown district has been in the developing stages for more than a decade with the hopes of making it a walkable mixed-use community with shops, restaurants, and housing.

With new discussion about building a potential data center on Midtown Drive and Corporate Parkway, Midtown developer James Murr told KBTX he has concerns about the future and feasibility of the Midtown district.

“I immediately collected my thoughts on [the data center] and emailed all of the City Council expressing our objection. Our, being mine as a developer of Midtown, and then I’ve got 450 households of homeowners that have bought into the Midtown vision as well,” he said.
