Chef Jose Bamaca has opened his third restaurant, 918 Maples Tacos & Cantina, at 2165 S. Sheridan Road.

Bamaca opened 918 Maples Cafe and Catering, at 8151 E. 21st St., in 2000, followed by the first location under the 918 Maples Tacos & Cantina banner, which opened in 2022 at 317 S. Trenton Ave., just across the street from the historic Church Studio.

The new location will feature the same menu as the Trenton Avenue restaurant, with made-to-order tacos filled with everything from beef and chicken to salmon and shrimp, as well as their signature birria tacos and birria pizza.

“We’re also going to feature our summer and fall specials, like the signature birria ramen, a special rib-eye steak taco and chicken tortilla soup,” Bamaca said.
