TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) - A teenager accused of repeatedly stabbing his girlfriend at the University of Arizona library during move-in week is set to be arraigned in a Pima County courtroom Tuesday morning.

Andreys Arias is facing a felony charge of domestic violence-aggravated assault with physical injury.

He has been held in Pima County Adult Detention Complex on a $200,000 bond since his arrest on August 19.

Court documents reveal that Arias, despite being 17 years old, is being charged as an adult.

The documents state that Arias and the 17-year-old victim, identified as his girlfriend, got into an argument, leading to him stabbing her several times with a kitchen knife.

News 4 Tucson will provide updates on the hearing and the case as it develops.
