An investigation is underway Tuesday after a pedestrian was fatally struck by a Metro train in Los Angeles' Jefferson Park neighborhood.

L.A. police and firefighters were sent to the area of West Exposition Boulevard and 7th Avenue regarding the incident around 12:05 a.m.

First responders arrived to find a man in his 30s down at the scene, a Los Angeles Police Department spokesperson confirmed to KTLA.

The unidentified man had been struck by the train and was pronounced dead at the scene, the spokesperson said.

Video showed the train was carrying passengers at the time of the collision, but none appeared to have been injured.

Exposition Park Boulevard was closed in both directions between 7th Avenue and 5th Avenue as officers investigated the incident.
