DUBOIS COUNTY, Ind. (WEVV) — A Dubois County Fire Department is mourning the loss of one of their own.

Officials with the Celestine Volunteer Fire Department says 41-year-old Luke Gehlhausen tragically lost his life in the line of duty on Sunday, September 7th.

We're told Gehlhausen was responding to a structure fire in his personal vehicle, when he was involved in a single fatal accident.

Gehlhausen was a 17-year veteran of the Department.

The Fire Chief says service details will be shared as they become available.

The Celestine Volunteer Fire Department is located along East State Road 164.
