HOUSTON (KIAH) — In a shocking incident caught on camera, a car backed into the front of a California jewelry store. Following the impact, more than a dozen masked robbers quickly moved in, smashing display cases and making off with thousands of dollars' worth of merchandise.

During the smash and grab robbery, the 88-year-old store owner was tragically shoved to the ground. Subsequently, he had to be hospitalized due to a stroke suffered during the robbery.

Local officials have reported that the damage to the store could reach as high as $100,000.
