GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Investigators identified the man shot and killed on Grand Rapids' southeast side earlier this month.
Marcus Jerome Jones, 41, died by homicide, the Kent County Medical Examiner ruled, in a shooting on Sept. 2 in the 400 block of Diamond Avenue SE.
It happened around 2:30 a.m., Grand Rapids Police said.
Investigators said they found him with gunshot wounds and attempted life-saving measures. He died at the scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
Jones' death marks the ninth homicide in Grand Rapids in 2025.
