DARLINGTON COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) -- A man has been arrested in connection with a Hartsville-area death late Monday night, Darlington County Sheriff Michael August said.

Rex Griffitts Jr. has been booked into the W. Glenn Campbell Detention Center on pending charges. He is currently awaiting a bond hearing.

Deputies responded at about 11 p.m. Monday to Hidden Creek Road for an injured person, August said. EMS also arrived on scene and notified the Darlington County coroner.

Griffitts was located in the back of the home and placed under arrest, though his specific charges were not immediately available. Online jail records only list his offense as homicide.
