FAIRFAX, Iowa (KCRG) - The Fairfax City Council on Tuesday will hear a presentation from Alliant Energy about a possible plant that would be built near the community.
Alliant Energy is looking to potentially build a utility plant in the area of 76th Avenue SW -- just a few miles from the main runway at the Eastern Iowa Airport.
Airport officials have voiced concerns about that location. Alliant Energy says it has other potential locations, but the company has not said where.
