It finally happened. The San Francisco 49ers are waiving kicker Jake Moody, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, marking the end of his career in the Bay Area after two-plus seasons with the team.

Moody, 25, had his struggles continue into Week 1 on Sunday, missing a 27-yard field goal before having a 36-yard field goal blocked, going 1-3 on the afternoon. That came after a preseason where Moody was 5/6 on field goals and 5/6 on extra points.

Since entering the league, the former Michigan kicker has been disappointing. He was 21-for-25 as a rookie, which still ranked in the bottom half of the league before going an abysmal 14-for-24 in Year 2.
