OSCODA – The second annual 9/11 Memorial 5K will be held Thursday, Sept. 11, from 6 to 8 p.m. The event begins and ends at the Oscoda Township Fire Department.

Organizers said the group will meet at the fire station, travel together through town and return to the station – where attendees are welcome to take a guided tour of the firehouse after the event. Participants are welcome to walk or run the course – strollers and leashed pets are invited to join.

Additionally, participants are encouraged to bring donations to support the local firefighters while at the station and out on calls. Suggested items include bottled water, Gatorade, nuts, beef jerky, crackers and trail mix.

The event is being organized by Richel Leslie and Michelle McGuire Rudowski.
