CLEVELAND (WJW) -- The Cleveland Metroparks Zoo has welcomed a brand new animal -- a sweet baby red panda.
Calling the baby a "tiny, fluffy surprise," the zoo announced Tuesday the birth took place July 3 to parents Poppy and Willie.
"This baby red panda is just over 2 months old and is healthy, curious and already stealing the hearts of our animal care team," the zoo wrote in a social media statement.
The zoo said they plan to reveal the gender and the name of the fluffball Friday.
The red panda is considered endangered and in the wild can be found in the Himalayas and parts of China.
At the Cleveland Zoo, the red pandas habitat can be found in the Asian Highlands.
