The San Francisco 49ers are moving on from former Michigan kicker Jake Moody just one game into the 2025 season.
The 2023 third-round pick is being waived by the team after a rough performance in the 49ers’ 17-13 win over the Seahawks on Sunday. Moody missed a 27-yard attempt late in the first half and also had a 36-yard try blocked in the third quarter.
He did make a 32-yarder in the fourth quarter to tie the game at 10 and converted both of his extra points, but San Francisco is looking for more stability at the position moving forward.
Head coach Kyle Shanahan said after the game there was ‘no question’ Moody would be the kicker in Week 2, but the team has since changed course.
