YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) -- A man who pleaded guilty earlier this year to attacking a woman downtown was sentenced today to four to six years in prison.

Whittington Davis, 38, of Warren, was sentenced by Judge Anthony D'Apolito in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court following guilty pleas on April 14 to charges of felonious assault, a second-degree felony, and obstructing official business, a first-degree misdemeanor.

Davis had tried to take his plea back, but his requests were rejected.

Davis was indicted in August 2024 for a July 2, 2024 attack on a woman on West Federal Street. The woman told police Davis pushed her to the ground and she fell, injuring her wrist.

Davis has been in the county jail since July 6, when he was arrested on a warrant.
