FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ark. — The Arkansas Legislature’s Joint Performance Review Committee will hold a formal discussion Tuesday, Sept. 9, at 1 p.m. at the Capitol to consider a citizens’ petition against the Franklin County prison project.

Sarah Moore, executive director of the Arkansas Justice Reform Coalition, said the plan was flawed from the start.

“Our state didn't do this on one of the biggest building and capital investment projects in the state. So this was a flawed project and plan from the very beginning, and now that all this time has elapsed,” Moore said.

She said lawmakers should consider alternatives.
