CLARKSBURG, W.Va. (WBOY) — Clarksburg residents may see their water bills go up soon, but they will also get a chance to make their voices heard ahead of the vote.

According to a social media post from the Clarksburg Water Board, a vote to increase water rates will take place on Sept. 24 at 3 p.m. at the Clarksburg Water Board building. However, concerned members of the public are encouraged to speak ahead of the voting.

The changes to customers' bills that the board is voting on are as follows:

The board said that the rate increases come from a desire to fund "upcoming water distribution system upgrades." If adopted, the new charges are set to take effect on Nov. 10, 2025.
