South Bruce OPP have charged a Chesley man after a large police response in an investigation.

OPP say on August 19th at about 6:15 in the evening, they received a report of someone entering vehicles at night in Chesley.

OPP say while investigating the initial complaint, they heard of numerous incidents allegedly involving the same individual over roughly a three-year period.

Those allegations have not been proven in court.

They say on August 31st, the individual was arrested after a what police describe as a lengthy engagement involving a large police presence at a residence along 1st Avenue North in Chesley.

Members of the South Bruce OPP, the OPP canine unit, crisis negotiators, and the West Region Emergency Response Team were involved.
