PORTLAND, Ore. — Drivers around Oregon may have noticed they're paying more at the pump this week.
The state's average for regular unleaded gasoline climbed to about $4.14, which is a 16-cent jump from the previous week, according to AAA. That's the highest price of gas in Oregon so far this year, and it's also the biggest week-over-week-jump in the country. In Portland, prices are higher at $4.30 compared to $4.10 a week ago. Meanwhile, 23 of the 36 counties in the state have averages at or above $4.
So why have gas prices increased in the past few days? Refinery issues in Puget Sound and California, along with reports of an outage at the Olympic Pipeline are to blame, AAA said.
