CENTRE COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) – Centre County residents volunteered time to help restore a community staple in Millheim over the weekend.

Over 20 volunteers assisted with tearing up the old pool liner, which is forcing the pool to be shut down. In 2024, the pool closed down early due to a leak and remained closed for the 2025 season. The pool was considering opening for a day, but due to safety concerns, it remained closed.

“The help that we had yesterday was incredible, and if we hadn't had those 20 bodies, this would have taken multiple days,” President of Penns Valley Parks and Recreation Association, Michelle Johnson, said. • Photo by Michelle A.
