A weather alert was issued by the National Weather Service on Tuesday at 3:47 p.m. for strong thunderstorms until 4:15 p.m. for Southern Blue Mountains of Oregon.
The storms could bring wind gusts of up to 40 mph and marble-sized hail (0.5 inches).
"At 3:47 p.m., Doppler radar tracked a strong thunderstorm 10 miles southeast of Lehman Hot Springs, or 28 miles west of North Powder, moving north at 10 mph," states the weather service. "Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible."
The alert is for Starkey.
The weather service states, "If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building."
