WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - TempleLive, a concert venue in Wichita that served the local music scene, has closed its doors. It comes after the parent company shut down similar spaces across the country.

Housed in the Scottish Rite Center in downtown Wichita, near First and Topeka, the venue had several upcoming events, from concerts to comedy shows, according to its website.

Some bands that were scheduled to perform now have to refund their fans, while local bands say it’s a loss for the community.

“It is no good for nobody. There is another activity that we lost here in Wichita while we know there really ain’t crazy amounts of things to do here,” said Esli Herrera, who performs with a local band called Ghost Orchid.
