HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - New information on a viral animal video that was hard to watch.

The video posted online showed a dog tied to the bed of a truck, being dragged while it was being driven through Kona.

The dog in this case is okay, and is expected to make a full recovery.

Police believe that this was an accident after the dog was tethered by a rope, fell from the back of a truck Monday along Mamalahoa Highway in Kona.

We’re told the 60-year-old driver was remorseful, cooperative and surrendered the dog to animal control.

The owner was not arrested but police forwarded a second-degree animal cruelty case to the county prosecutor.
