The Beach Committee is pushing back against the town manager’s decision not to draft a warrant article for the November Town Meeting that would request design funds for 10 Pumping Station Road as the future home of the beach department.

The Select Board took up the matter during its meeting on Monday, September 8, and, in the end, sided with the committee, supporting $50,000 for a feasibility survey of the site.

“I don’t think there is anything we haven’t said,” Beach Committee chairwoman Barbara P. Schneider told the Select Board, noting the search for a replacement headquarters has been going on for more than two years.

In a letter sent ahead of Monday’s meeting, the committee expressed frustration over what it called a “complete turnaround” by the administration.
