A few weeks following a recent change in the leadership of Nelson County’s Department of Social Services, the agency has made strides in several key areas, according to a Sept. 4 news release from county officials.
The Nelson County Board of Supervisors voted 3-1, with Chair Ernie Reed opposed, following a closed session discussion to approve a resolution dissolving the local appointed board overseeing the county’s department of social services and replacing it with the oversight of County Administrator Candice McGarry.
