The Broadway Bridge will close to all motorized traffic from Oct. 13 to Apr. 11, according to Multnomah County officials.

Pedestrians and cyclists will still be able to cross the bridge on the south sidewalk during the majority of the time it is closed.

The Portland Streetcar that typically crosses the bridge will continue to provide service with some modifications. According to the county, the following service changes should be expected:

The streetcar will serve the east side via Tilikum Crossing, turning around on either end of the Broadway Bridge.

A and B loop streetcars will operate as one line, going both directions through downtown and along the central east side.

The stop at Northwest 9th Avenue and Lovejoy Street will be closed for the duration of the project.
