Charlie Kirk, the CEO and co-founder of the conservative youth organization Turning Point USA, was shot this afternoon at an event at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah.

Kirk’s condition isn’t yet known. He is 31 years old and has close ties to the Trump administration. He is considered a confidant of the president and members of his family.

Kirk was speaking to students at an outdoor event when he was shot. The university says a single shot was fired and a suspect is in custody.
