RIDGEFIELD, N.J. (PIX11) -- It's a bittersweet rainy Wednesday morning for Dave Opdyke, perusing the shelves of one of his favorite stores one last time.
Taking home a model ship and vintage Hot Wheels car, these collectibles are symbols of a bygone era.
"It's like everything else," said Opdyke We're losing touch with the things that we had when we were kids, and memories. I mean, where do you find a hobby store anymore?"
Jim Pentifallo and his mom, Peggy, are the owners of Ridgefield Hobby.
"We all grew up in the hobby business, playing with all our toys," said Jim Pentifallo. "Always had the best toys as a kid."
It's a store with a story that began in the family 66 years ago, with Peggy's late husband, a Fort Lee police officer.
